How do I pay the visa fee?

The process for paying visa fees varies by consulate. Some consulates require that the visa fee be paid directly to the consulate cashier at the time of a scheduled appointment whereas some require it be paid to a bank prior to the actual appointment. There have been multiple instances of attempted scams pertaining to payment for visa applications and/or the Diversity Visa program in the past. Please use caution and be aware that the U.S. government will not ask you to send advance payment in the form of check, money order, or wire transfer. You should report any suspicious communications that request such payment.
