Garfinkel Immigration selects Safe Alliance, Crisis Assistance Ministry as beneficiaries of 2019 Charitable Fund

Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm has selected Safe Alliance and Crisis Assistance Ministry as the beneficiaries of its Charitable Fund in 2019.

Garfinkel Immigration created the Charitable Fund two years ago, in commemoration of its 20th anniversary, to return a portion of its profits to the community. The Fund contributes to nonprofit organizations in the Charlotte region that empower the economically marginalized while supporting pluralism and embracing multiculturalism.

“We are very much connected to, and a part of, the community,” Co-Managing Partner Hannah Little said. “We have been here, as a company, for more than 22 years, and many of our staff have deep roots in Charlotte. We embrace our responsibility to contribute to the common good and to share some of our profit, in a systemic way, with local organizations that reflect our values. We are proud to support Safe Alliance and Crisis Assistance Ministry and the tireless work they do, day in and out, throughout the year, to empower the disadvantaged and to build a more just world.”

Safe Alliance’s mission is to supply “hope and healing for those impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault.” The organization runs a domestic violence shelter as well as a sexual trauma resource center in Charlotte and provides counseling and support groups for individuals, couples, and families, along with a host of other services.

Crisis Assistance Ministry, meanwhile, helps those in financial crisis move toward self-sufficiency by distributing aid and by conducting public advocacy. The group has assisted more than 20,000 families in the Charlotte area since it was founded in 1975.

In its professional work, the Firm enables businesses to benefit from a wealth of global talent while simultaneously establishing legal immigration pathways for vibrant families who enrich American communities. Similarly, the Partners are committed to philanthropy with an international perspective through investments in local communities.

Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm is committed to the local community as a natural extension of its efforts every day to create opportunity and dignity for people across the globe while fostering understanding and tolerance as core values.

The Firm is proud to do its part, with gratitude to its clients who have enabled its success over many years.

Previous beneficiaries of the Fund include Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy (CCLA), the Charlotte Bilingual Preschool, RAICES, Care Ring and Refugee Support Services of Charlotte.
