Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm continued its “day of service” tradition earlier this month.
Over the course of two days in mid-June, almost 40 of the Firm’s staff members volunteered at ourBRIDGE for KIDS’ campus in East Charlotte, completing a variety of projects including cleaning and organizing sheds, refreshing classrooms, tidying school grounds, and more.
“We’re so grateful to the Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm team for showing up for ourBRIDGE for KIDS during their day of service,” ourBRIDGE for KIDS Volunteer Coordinator Amilia Keomuongchanh said. “Their hard work refreshing our classrooms came just in time for us to prepare for summer camp, and the heavy lifting they did to organize our family support shed helped us clean out after another exciting year of after school programming!”

ourBRIDGE for KIDS was founded in 2014 with a mission to “address the gaps in culturally responsive services, access, and support to help newly arrived immigrant and refugee children and families thrive in Charlotte.” The organization “is the only non-faith-based non-profit in the area that provides resources and out-of-school programs specifically designed for immigrant and refugee children and their families.”
ourBRIDGE for KIDS welcomes all first generation, immigrant, and refugee Charlotte-Mecklenburg School (CMS) students from kindergarten through eighth grade, and offers afterschool and summer programs; family support services; community engagement partnerships; and advocacy, amongst its many services.
“Partnering with ourBRIDGE for KIDS gave our team a chance to step outside the office and stand alongside those building a more inclusive future for Charlotte’s children,” Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm Managing Partner Hannah F. Little said. “We believe in the work they do, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute to their mission.”
Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm and its employees are proud to call Charlotte home. The Firm is dedicated to making a positive impact through service projects and by giving back via the Garfinkel Charitable Fund, which returns a portion of the Firm’s profits to nonprofit organizations in the local community and nationally that reflect its core values of inclusion, equality as well as social and economic justice.
ourBRIDGE for KIDS was one of the organizations selected as a recipient of the Firm’s Charitable Fund in 2024, as part of its partnership with the Charlotte is Home collaboration.
